Structures Representative/Assistant Resident Engineer-Caltrans

We are presently seeking an experienced Structures Representative/Assistant Resident Engineer to join us in San Ramon, CA to provide structural inspection support. DETAILED JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Support of client in inspection and oversight of structural highway and bridge construction Responsible for daily reporting on progress, quality, issues, etc., inspections to document adherence to contract documents, review of submittals, review of payment applications, coordination between general contractor and client's staff, monitoring of schedule and issues affecting the schedulesTrack RFI's maintaining record documents, maintenance of non-compliance logs, photographic documentation, evaluation of test reports, risk management on the projectAssist the Resident Engineer with contract change ordersLead inspections in the fieldKnowledge of Caltrans procedures and manualsMaintain project files in accordance with Caltrans and or Local Assistance Procedures Manual (LAPM) Keep track of project and consultant expenditures Requirements: Bachelors Degree in the areas of engineering technology, engineering, or construction management is preferredPE License is requiredMinimum 5 years of transportation inspection experience on highways, roadways, and bridgesCandidate should have intermediate computing skills including competency in Microsoft Office Suite Candidate must possess excellent written and oral communication skillsCandidate must be able to read plans and specs and must maintain quality control at the siteMUST have prior Caltrans experienceMust have prior experience structural steel construction on bridge projects http://www.hillintl.com/employment/everify/index.html Hill International is an Equal Opportunity Employer M/F/D/V
