RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Supervises the day to day operations of the ICD Coding unit and its contribution to the reimbursement of cases reimbursed by a Prospective Payment System (PPS) methodology. Ensures ICD Coding staff are trained on current and any changes in Federal coding guidelines and rules. Develops and implements workflow processes to insure accurate and expedient coding and to facilitate organizational changes that impact the unit Works under general supervision.
Licensure: License and current registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State is required. Valid driver&rsquot;s license may be required to travel between regions, as determined by operational/regional needs.
Education: Bachelor&rsquot;s or Master&rsquot;s Degree in Nursing, or enrollment in accredited program within first year and completion of Bachelor&rsquot;s degree in Nursing within two years after accepting position.
Experience: Minimum of four years RN experience with at least two years working in a home care setting required. Experience delivering and/or developing training programs preferred. Strong clinical background including knowledge of PPS Medicare Regulations and Oasis required. Working knowledge of ICD-10-CM coding and Patient Care Record Suite (PCRS) preferred. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications required.
