1st Shift (12 hr. rotating shift 5:00 am - 5:30 pm)

HSM (the new name of Hickory Springs Manufacturing Company) has an immediate opening for a Supervisor at our Wire Technology facility in Conover, NC on 1st and 2nd shift. The 1st shift supervisor & 2nd shift supervisor will be working 12 hour shifts on rotating days. This position will be responsible for supervising and coordinating all aspects of production for the entire shift. The candidate for this role must be hands-on with strong technical skills. This position significantly impacts HSM's impact to be competitive in the areas of sales, quality, delivery, cost and growth while ensuring safe and environmentally friendly work settings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

* Manage operations by developing schedules; assigning and monitoring workloads; gathering resources; implementing productivity standards; resolving operational challenges; maintaining reference manuals and implementing new procedures

* Maintain staff by selecting, orientating, and training associates; developing personal growth opportunities

* Plan work schedules by coaching, counseling, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; conducting training; implementing and insuring compliance to established production systems while implementing the compliance to policies and procedures

* Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing and enforcing organizational standards and adhering to legal regulations

* Control expenses and submitting budget information; scheduling expenditures; monitoring variances while implementing corrective action plans

* Provide quality service through the assurance of quality and customer service standards

* Confirm the location(s) is meeting contractual obligations to the customer

* Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; benchmarking professional standards; reviewing professional publications; and establishing personal networks

* Resolve problems by adjusting priorities, schedules and reassignment of workforce when necessary

* Monitor all internal systems for accuracy and compliance while insuring the disciplines necessary to achieve Company goals, strategic plans and expectations

Minimum Qualifications (submitted resumes that do not clearly indicate the following job requirements will not be considered):

* Completion of high school education (requirements demonstrated by high school transcript, diploma or GED)

* 3-5 years of prior supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment

* Knowledge and or experience with Lean/Six Sigma

* Proficient in MS Office application

* Candidate must be available to train on 1st shift (Mon-Fri) for 2-3 months

* Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to effectively present information one-one one, or in small group situations to other employees of the organization
