Job Description
Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to Provide immediate response to any threat, crisis or emergency within or affecting the facility. Develop and maintain a professional working relationship with outside agencies. Ensure compliance regarding company rules, procedures policies and all associated laws. Provide guidance and supervision to all members of the Security and Fire Protection Services Department. Manage daily operations of patrol and emergency operations. Prepare schedules for patrol or emergency operations personnel. On call 24 hours/7 days a week. Notified of all fire, rescue, hazardous materials and EMS incidents involving USS property, employees, contractors and visitors. Represent the Security and Fire Protection Services Department at internal and external meetings. Ensure standards of care are maintained in reference to emergency medical operations. Due to the nature of our business, our facilities operate 24 hours/day, 7 days/week, 365 days/year, which may require rotating shift work including weekends and/or holidays. All successful candidates must clear a background check, pre-employment physical examination, drug and alcohol screening and a suitability assessment.
Candidate Requirements:
Bachelor s Degree in a relevant area of study and:
Minimum 2 years experi
ence in private security / police, industrial / municipal fire or related fields with: Current Illinois Certified Emergency Medical Technician Basic
HazMat. Technician preferred Pro Board or IFSAC Certification - Operations level acceptable
Certified Firefighter I and II Or: Associate s degree in a relevant area of study and: Minimum 4 years experi
ence in private security / police, industrial / municipal fire or related fields with: Current Illinois Certified Emergency Medical Technician Basic
HazMat. Technician preferred Pro Board or IFSAC Certification - Operations level acceptable
Certified Firefighter Fire Officer I or Certified Fire Instructor Or: Minimum 6 years experience in private security / police, industrial / municipal fire or related fields with:
Current Illinois Certified Emergency Medical Technician Basic HazMat. Technician preferred Pro Board or IFSAC Certification - Operations level acceptable Certified Firefighter
Fire Officer I or Certified Fire Instructor
Technical Rescue and Confined Space Rescue training
NIMS 100, 200, 700, 800
