Qualifications: Brooklyn Queens SI Substation Operations- Construction is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated candidate to fill a Supervisor position. The successful candidate must possess a high regard for personal accountability and understand the importance of our commitment to safety, enhancing the customer experience, and operational excellence. The successful candidate must demonstrate a high energy level and promote a positive work ethic in support of our corporate values as well as provide strong customer support. Must possess a high level of emotional intelligence, be able to exercise independent judgment, and be able to render sound business decisions. Must be detail oriented, able to work under challenging circumstances and handle multiple concurrent assignments efficiently. Must demonstrate the ability to apply practices and procedures as well as conform to Company specifications. Must have strong and effective communication skills (both oral and written), good presentation skills and the ability to respectfully interact with both internal and external customers, support staff, and various levels of management. Must be computer literate and be able to apply practical applications in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Windows operating systems. A Bachelors Degree and a minimum of two years of experience in the operation, maintenance or construction of power generation, transmission or distribution equipment or equivalent education/experience is required. Equivalent education/experience includes an Associate s Degree and four or more years of experience or a High School Diploma (or GED) and five years of experience or more.

A Bachelor s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is preferred. Technical experience in the operation, maintenance, construction, inspection or repair of electrical transmission and distribution system including substation operations, switchgear installation, grounding practices, circuit breaker mechanics and electrical distribution transformers is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities: Directly supervises the construction, maintenance and repair of transmission and distribution equipment, controls and structures in substation facilities. Orders, coordinates and ensures availability and timely delivery of materials, supplies and equipment. Certifies, accounts for and approves expenditures for labor, material supplies and equipment within prescribed limits. Ensures personnel comply with all Company and Organizational rules and regulations. Ensures that all work functions within substations are in compliance with safety procedures, OSHA laws and general environmental instructions. Initiates preliminary accident investigations, investigates substation abnormalities, job status and equipment functions within substations and submits reports. Plans, organizes, schedules and assigns personnel to meet operating and climatic conditions to optimize productivity.

Must have a valid driver's license for travel within Company service territory. Position requires extensive walking and climbing and working outdoors in all weather conditions. The selected candidate must be medically approved to wear a respirator.
