JOB DESCRIPTIONAPPLY The Supply Chain Planner/Buyer position is a key role within our strategic plan for the AVS Supply Chain. This position will require a self-starter with a strong drive to improve existing processes and systems. Excellent organizational skills, ability to balance immediate/long term priorities and exceptional multitasking skills are a necessity. Key objectives will be achieving/improving/exceeding targeted customer service levels, managing inventory levels and targets, and managing supply and demand within the Global Supply Chain.
This position also ensures adherence to the master production schedule and program delivery requirements through total production planning. Procure supplies, components, equipment (such as parts and materials) and outside processes to ensure continuous flow of materials to repair/production cells consistent with bidding policies, pricing targets, and core values of Safety-Quality-Delivery and Cost. Initiate, develop and maintain supplier base to ensure solid supplier partnerships.
This is a diverse position covering the planning, buying, releasing, and tracking of workflow from the supply chain department and through the shop department. This position receives drawing packages and requisitions from the shop personnel, enters data, into the company MRP system (Quantum), copies, assembles, distributes, and further prepares material for the shop floor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to the following:
?Establishes and maintains a comprehensive material status; shortage identification and resolution
?Releases the proper documentation in a timely manner to ensure adherence to production requirements
?Initiates purchase requisitions or production repair orders as appropriate.
?Utilizes MRP and Master Scheduling tools to analyze consumption trends, plan complex and long-lead items, assist in KANBAN set up when appropriate
?Oversees scheduling, tracking, and status of supplier deliveries to ensure adherence to production requirements
?Ensures timely dock-to-stock material flow
?Participates in GENBA activities
?Monitors, analyzes, and reports performance to ensure material needs are met.
?Research and assign manufacturing times and due dates on parts as needed
and document during the releasing process
?Participate on supply chain weekly calls and activities
?Coordinate with departments and managers as needed to identify and
resolve issues regarding delivery of materials
?Monitor quality, service, and delivery issues, and take corrective actions as
?Identify and resolve supplier and internal errors that result in discrepancies
?Provide continual improvement of the planning and reporting processes
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
?Bachelor's Degree Business, Operations Supply Chain or related field preferred
?3+ years directly related strategic planning experience
?3+ years experience in a planning capacity utilizing Quantum or comparable MRP system and lean manufacturing tools
?Aerospace planning experience in both Military and a Commercial environment preferred
?Strong PC literacy (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and an integrated database
?APICS CPIM/CSCP certification or certification in progress preferable
