Nights (rotating weekends)
Under the general supervision of the Director, the Nurse Manager assumes 24-hour responsibility for all functions for IMU. In collaboration with the Nurse Director and members of the Medical Staff, this individual is responsible for the ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services provided in the Unit by all levels of practitioners. The Nurse Manager,
A. Initiates, guides, and directs the coordination of all IMU Unit functions.
B. Functions as a resource person for staff members and assists in necessary education of individual members of the nursing staff.
C. Assumes responsibility for the overall quality of nursing care provided by IMU.
D. Makes decisions regarding activities within these areas based on Hospital Administrative Standards, Human Resource Standards, Department of Nursing Standards, and IMU Unit Standards, collaborating with the Director in unusual situations.
Staff in this job category is responsible for consideration and of development issues of patients in each of the following age groups identified.
Neonatal (Birth to 1 year)
X Adolescent (12-18)
X Adult (18-65)
X Geriatric (65+)
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
A. Current licensure in Texas as a Registered Nurse.
B. Graduate of an Accredited School of Professional Nursing.
C. Minimum of three (3) years of clinical practice in provision of clinical nursing of the adult medical-surgical patient with emphasis on leadership and management experience.
D BLS Certified
E. ACLS required
F. Critical Care experience preferred
