SERVICE AREA OVERVIEW
Specializing in Robotic, General, Bariatric, Neuro, Orthopedic, Breast, Plastic, and Gynecologic Surgery, Northside Hospital performs more than 40,500 cases annually, which is more than any other hospital in Georgia. We offer our patients innovative technology, including: daVinci robotic surgical system, O-arm Intraoperative Imaging, HD technology, Ci System computer-assisted orthopedic surgery system, artificial spinal disc, and stealth-guided image navigation. The Surgery Scheduling Specialist performs scheduling function in a high volume fully computerized environment. Acts as a professional liaison for staff, other hospital personnel, medical staff, and physicians offices. Requires specific knowledge of all clinical service lines for the operating rooms at all Northside surgical locations, labor and delivery, and GI services. Additional skills required include typing, experience using computerized documentation systems, strong customer service and problem solving.
Associate s degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Nursing or related field OR Five (5) to Seven (7) years previous medical related clerical experience. Demonstrates high level proficiency in the following software packages or equivalent. Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access). McKesson Pathways Healthcare Scheduling (PHS). Highly developed interpersonal, facilitation, verbal communication, and written communication skills. Must possess problem solving skills. Must possess excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills. Ability to plan time effectively, balance multiple tasks, and execute projects to completion. Demonstrated knowledge of Medical terminology. Ability to type 40 words per minute.
