JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Under direct supervision, the Surgery Technician is responsible for assisting with the preparation of the operating room and instruments for assigned surgical cases. He/she anticipates the needs of the doctor before and during the procedure, assists in the cleanup of the room and instruments after the procedure, takes Surgery call. The tech must attend all required in-services, no less than 6 staff meetings per year, and must maintain current CPR certification. Performs all other duties as assigned.

Core competencies: Age Specific, Compliance and computerized annual required education (HealthStream), additional competencies as defined by Department Director.

* High School diploma or equivalent, required
* Successful completion of an accredited Operating Room/Surgical Tech program, required
* Current certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist, required
* Possess a current Basic Life Support Certification, or obtain certification within one month of employment, required
* Must be registered on DORA in the state of CO
* One year of surgical tech experience, preferred
