Under the general direction of the Chief Administrative Officer and direct supervision from the Executive Director of General Services, develops and leads a comprehensive sustainability program, manages and oversees the Contracted management agreements and operations of the Health System Sustainability and all Waste Streams Management programs under the UCLA Health management purview. This includes general environmental, sustainable product procurement, waste elimination, toxicity reduction, energy and water consumption reduction for UCLA Health. Responsible to maintain efficient operations that adhere to the UC and UCLAHS policies and procedures and regulatory requirements from Joint Commission, DPH, OSHA, EPA, DPT, SS Title 22, 24 and others applicable to the Sustainability program. Responsible for tracking and benchmarking all sustainability programs, coordination of sustainability programs between departments and represents the organization s environmental initiatives with both internal and external stakeholders. Additionally, will coordinate services with the UCLA Campus Sustainability Office and the Sustainability Director in the Office of the President. Operates department effectively and meets organizational strategic, operational, budgetary and financial goals and objectives. Develops and sustains metric reports related to Sustainability and Waste Management compliance and active daily management. Manage other General Services programs as assigned.
Demonstrated supervisory skills including hiring, training, evaluating performance, and organizing work flow to accomplish established objectives.
Expertise in all aspects of Environment of Care management, accreditation standards, knowledge of codes, and other environmental requirements.
Demonstrated knowledge of development and management of operational and capital budgets.
Demonstrates a leadership style that builds and maintains a climate of trust and inspires commitment from others to achieve organization goals.
Consistently interacts with all members of the organization in ways that enhance understanding, respect, cooperation and problem solving.
