System Administrator

Work Location: Omaha, NE


Job Summary:
Serves as a mid to senior level information technology specialist. Installs, troubleshoots, maintains, and uses a variety of computer systems, software, and peripheral devices in a support role for a primarily Windows Server environment.

ILLUSTRATIVE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Note: These accountabilities are not meant to reflect all duties for every incumbent. Rather, they are illustrative of the types of accountabilities that specific jobs may have.

' Independently design, install, configure, monitor, maintain and troubleshoot enterprise server applications such as Microsoft SQL, IIS, and System Center.
' Independently design, install, configure, monitor, maintain and troubleshoot highly available and fault tolerant server infrastructure including storage area networks and virtualization environment.
' Support projects by performing feasibility studies, evaluating implementation plans, and providing recommendations.
' Support 4000+ users in an Active Directory network: Resolve permission/resource access issues, train users on use of technology as needed, Work with users to solve system problems, develop workarounds, explore and deploy solutions.
' Accurately maintain inventory of installed server, storage and backup systems as well as related warranty, support agreements, software licensing and modification history.
QUALIFICATIONS:
'BS/BA or Associates degree in related discipline.
'MCSE certification or a CCNA certification preferred.
'2-5 years of experience in related field
' 5 years of progressively responsible experience with computer hardware technology and operational support.
' 3 years Windows Server support experience.
' 2 years experience in medium (100+) to large (1000+) desktop support environment is preferred.
' Experience with design, setup and maintenance of virtual servers and imaging technologies.
' Experience with SAN/NAS preferred.
' Experience with Microsoft SQL, SCCM, IIS, and Symantec Backup Exec preferred.
' Experience with Linux operating systems preferred.
' Experience with IPv4 Cat5/6 networks preferred.
' Ability to physically relocate server systems and make necessary patch cable changes.
' Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
' Excellent written/verbal communication skills.
