JOB DESCRIPTIONAPPLY Act-1 Group is looking for a full-time contract employee to work onsite at Bonneville Power Administration (BPA), located in Portland, Oregon. This position is responsible for providing operating implementation design and system support in order to provide sustainable, stable and secure enterprise level servers including backup recovery, performance tuning, upgrades/patches, maintenance, troubleshooting, permissions and file sharing.
Position Responsibilities include:
?Administer Windows Server:
?Create and maintain installation, configuration, and operations procedures
?Coordinate troubleshooting of advanced Operating System (OS) related issues
?Perform setup, installation, and configuration of Windows server operating systems
?In coordination with BPA federal employees and managers, participate in the creation and implementation of Group Policy (GPO) in support of OS hardening and operations
?Create and administer service accounts, related groups and roles in Active Directory
?Install and administer OS and firmware patches supplied by vendors as required.
?Support cluster/disaster recovery and ensure continuous availability of business applications
?Coordinate and collaborate with application leads during the transition to hardened Windows servers.
?Coordinate VMware guest deployment including appropriately sizing and configuring for optimal use.
?Participate in a regular rotation providing ?on call? support for non-critical business systems servers.
?Associate?s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a directly-related technical discipline is highly desirable. (Associate?s degree in specified or directly-related field can substitute for 2 years required experience - see below).
?Bachelor?s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a directly-related technical discipline is preferred. (Bachelor?s degree in specified or directly-related field can substitute for 4 years required experience - see below).
?Related Experience: A minimum combination of work-related experience, on-the-job training, and/or vocational training is required. Experience should be consistent with the specific requirements of Computer/Information Technology or related field and progressively more technical in nature. Applicable Associates or Bachelor?s degrees, as defined above, can be substituted for a portion of the experience requirements:
?Minimum Related Experience: This is a Level 3 position: 10+ years previous work-related skill, knowledge, or experience (as defined above) is required (6+ years experience with specified or directly-related Bachelor?s Degree; 8+ years experience with specified or directly-related Associate?s degree). Advanced computer skills and knowledge of automated data systems are required.
Note: Equivalent related degrees will only count once. For example: A candidate with two Associate degrees in different Computer/Information Technology disciplines, will only be given credit for 2 years of experience.
?Working knowledge and experience sufficient to successfully troubleshoot Windows operating systems using text-based logs, windows event logs, and various utilities is required
?Working knowledge and experience sufficient to successfully perform Active Directory administration and troubleshooting is required
