EMULATION & PROTOTYPING SYSTEM ARCHITECT

Xilinx seeks a motivated technically-minded system architect to drive the solutions strategy for Xilinxs leadership position in the Emulation & Prototyping (E&P) market space. The E&P System Architect will engage with customers at the system architecture level to drive Xilinx solutions. Additionally, the E&P system architect will drive Xilinx product definition and application platform strategy to ensure successful penetration of the E&P market. The system architect will have a wide variety of responsibilities ranging from: system level technical proposals, IP and development platform definitions, FPGA product definitions and industry representation. The applicants must be able to work in a small, fast paced, team environment with the desire to effect change within a large organization.

Specific Duties:

* Support development of strategic plans:

* E&P platform strategy & roadmap

* E&P tools and methodologies

* EDA ecosystem collaboration on E&P related tool flow and methodologies

* Drive the creation and execution of high value products:

* Drive system-level product definition sessions with key architects at target customers

* Drive feasibility assessments and recommend/review/approve product definitions

* Drive unique and compelling value into the E&P roadmaps and product definitions for silicon and tools

* Support the execution of Business Development strategies for the E&P market:

* Contribute to Sales account penetration plans

* Define prioritized Design Win targets

* Provide systems architecture and solutions support for sales efforts

* Lead technical response (architectural proposal) to RFQs and RFPs

* Support system-level design-in applications collateral - Methodologies, demos, technical presentation

* Create application specific training content and conduct training sessions

* Keynotes, panel presentations, and trade show support

* Demonstrated technical output:

* Patents and trade secrets (as appropriate)

* Participation in industry conferences, workshops, panels, standards committees, etc.

* Journal articles, applications notes, and white papers

* Articles in industry publications

* FPGA-based Architecture White Papers

We have a strong preference for this individual to be located at Xilinxs headquarters in San Jose, CA but we are open to this individual working remotely from any US location.

Organization: Experience:

* BSEE Required, 12 years of direct experience

* MSEE Preferred

* Experience in designing systems using FPGAs is required

* Experience in ASIC Emulation on FPGA and/or low level software debugging on prototyping platforms is strongly desired

* Board design experience including familiarity with different IO related capabilities in FPGA is strongly desired

* Demonstrated ability to solve complex system-level problems

* Practical experience in developing technical proposals is a must

* Background in:

* Logic fundamentals, ASIC and/or FPGA design (VHDL/Verilog)

* Simulation (MTI, VCS, NC-Verilog), Synthesis, Place & Route and Verification techniques

* Integration/Test

* Demonstrated ability to take on new and challenging tasks

* Excellent written and oral communications skills

* Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced and multitasking environment
