* Roles and Responsibilities:

*
* - Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups\.- Repair and recover from hardware or software failures\. Coordinate and communicate with impacted user communities and management\.- Install, configure new applications and apply application patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and monitoring utilities\.- Provide Tier II application support and service other support requests from various entities within the organization\. Investigate and troubleshoot issues\.- Perform periodic security and performance reviews and create reports for management review\.- Create and maintain operational, configuration, and other technical documentation\.- Responsible for professional oral and written communications to clearly and effectively convey issues, reports, and other deliverables to counterparts\.- Documents or revises user and technician training manuals and procedures- Develop new system and application implementation plans, and testing procedures to ensure operational reliability\.

* Basic Qualifications:

*
* To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Software Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited institution and 10 years of relevant experience\. Additional 4 years of experience maybe accepted in lieu of degree\.- At least 5 years of experience with Unix/Linux operating systems- Excellent oral and written communication skills- Solid organizational abilities- Must be a US Citizen or Green Card Holder\.- Must have a deep understanding of both the virtualization technology and the IT infrastructure that is already in place in order to plan and design a virtual infrastructure that is stable, efficient and flexible\.- Must be capable of implementing resource sharing that avoids bogging down the network with the data moving among virtual machines, virtual storage and the real infrastructure\.- Experience migrating SAN storage devices to virtualized storage systems\.- Experience upgrading VMware vSpere 5\.0 environment to vSpere 5\.5U2\.- Ability to design and deploy a VMware server farm using HP server and SAN technologies\.- PowerShell/ Programming experience- Ability to Design, build and administer Windows Server 2003/20012/2008- Establish guidelines and methods for the installation and management of the host computers' operating systems- Knowledge of IIS- Knowledge of EM7- Experience with monitoring of ticketing system, prioritizing problems, supporting projects, and supporting enterprise level infrastructure- Experience in security vulnerability mitigation- VMware disaster recovery skills \(Site Recovery Manager, vMotion, etc\.

* Preferred Qualifications:

* - Experience with J2EE Application server such as WebLogic, Websphere, JBOSS\.- Experience with databases including DB2, MS SQL, MySQL etc\.- Possess working knowledge of Microsoft operating systems- VMware Certified Professional \(VCP\)- Understand of SAN architecture and its operational use for allowing access and operation- Working knowledge of Active Directory from design to operation- Moderate experience managing Linux Servers \(CentOS/RedHat\)Northrop Grumman is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce\.
