Job Description
Performs end-to-end analysis of the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) supporting the systems engineering process for the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). Analyses are focused on evaluation of new concepts, requirements definition, performance assessment and system and test verification. Individual will write code to add analysis capabilities or to modify a large MATLAB based BMDS simulation and perform quantitative analyses. Individual will perform analysis of resultant modeling information. May also run higher fidelity element level simulations. May act as a subject matter expert on BMDS elements or analysis techniques. Individual could act as the team lead or report to the lead. Plans tasks and reports on progress. Coordinates with functional working group leads, senior management and government personnel responsible for executing analysis tasks. Documents analysis results in reports and briefings and presents results to the Missile Defense Systems Engineering Team (MDSET) and Missile Defense Agency (MDA) representatives. Must understand modeling and simulation of systems.

Required Qualifications:
Strong technical background in various BMDS sensors, interceptors and/or discrimination. Experience/working knowledge of BMDS with a background in the development of analytical tools and numerical modeling of complex systems using MATLAB or a similar computing environment. Strong communication skills. Education and experience commensurate with that of a senior analyst capable of working independently and with minimal supervision. Capable of assuming a study lead role in analyses and coordinating the efforts with other subject matter experts
Desired Qualifications:
Previous experience with either IR or RF BMDS discrimination strongly desired. Also desired are strong coordination, organization, teaming and communication abilities. Systems Engineering experience of large, complex weapons systems.
Education:
Typically requires bachelors degree in a specialized area or field or the equivalent, and a minimum of ten years of experience in related field; or masters degree a minimum of 8 years of related experience.
Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's minimum 10 years of experience, Master's with minimum of 8 years of experience or PhD. (Level 4) Degree and typical experience in engineering classification; Degree from an accredited course of study in engineering; math required. MS or BS in an applicable engineering or physical sciences; MS is preferred
