JOB DESCRIPTIONPosition Description
Provide technical expertise to support the design/development of assigned GSDO Program subsystems. Responsibilities include typical systems engineering activities, with particular emphasis on the technical integration of requirements and cross program interfaces across all subsystems. Technical integration functions include the review of subsystem requirements information to ensure that a technically sound and consistent requirements approach flows from the Design Verification Matrix (DVM) to the Test Requirements Document (TRD) and into the subsystem verification/validation procedures. Management functions may also include the coordination of requirement closure with the applicable NASA NE and GSDO stakeholders. Additional duties include the coordination/integration of V&V testing results into V&V test report as well as field support to subsystem teams during V&V testing.
Required Skills/Special Training:
Strong engineering/technical background with emphasis on design/development of mechanical, fluids and electrical systems. Demonstrated experience in leading system development from design through final system testing and operational deployment is required. Candidate must also possess strong project leadership and communication skills working in a complex engineering environment. Candidate should also have a good understanding of NASA Systems Engineering and NASA Project Life Cycle processes to support technical integration efforts. Kennedy Space Center work experience and knowledge of processes and procedures is also highly desirable.
Education/Years of Experience:
Requires a bachelor s degree in an engineering discipline (or equivalent years of experience in the field of specialization) and 10 years of related experience.
Engineer 5 requires a minimum of 10 years.
Engineer 6 requires a minimum of 15 years.
