The Systems Engineer will be responsible for building and maintaining customer facing Business Intelligence Applications and related infrastructure. In addition to building, imaging, installing, maintaining and administer systems, they will proactively monitor and benchmark systems as necessary for the health and well-being of our entire platform. Expertise in Linux Systems Administration, VMWare, Microsoft SQL
* Server and Datacenter Operations are highly beneficial for this position.
Job Duties (include but not limited to):
-Build, image, install, maintain and administer Production, QA and Development systems hosted in-house and in collocation facilities
-Build, maintain system topology and Standard Operations Procedures
-Perform regular inventories of in-house and datacenter equipment
-Manage preventative maintenance contracts for critical datacenter computer and telecommunications systems.
-Monitor equipment for proper operation
-Provide 24x7 on call phone, email, and in-person support for all datacenter related issues.
-Document configurations and maintain such documentation per department Change Control methodologies
-Plan and manage datacenter expansion and improvement projects.
-Serve as Linux Administrator
-BA / BS required (in Computer Science or IT related fields).
-At least 2 years experience in an on-call IT position, preferably in Data Center Operations
-Knowledge of x86, x86_64 hardware, operating system and software configuration and administration
-Knowledge of basic administration for networking devices, such as Cisco, firewalls and routers
-Knowledge of Change Management best practices
-Experience with at least one systems monitoring tool, such as Nagios, WhatsUpGold, HP Openview, MOM, SCOM
-Project management experience in IT
-Knowledge of best practices for enterprise-level IT infrastructure
-Knowledge of basic Linux systems administration
-Previous Telecommunications industry experience a big plus
