MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor s degree in Technical Communication, Computer Science, Journalism, English, Certification in Technical Writing, or equivalent experience. May substitute equivalent combination of education and experience. 7 or more years of experience in a software development environment writing and editing user guides, Web help systems, or closely related documentation. Excellent oral and written communication and English grammar skills. Knows and adheres to standards and best practices of clear technical writing. Advanced user of Microsoft Word, including styles, headers, footers, tables, fields, contents, index, and cross references. Advanced user of Adobe RoboHelp development tool. Well versed with Microsoft Windows, Internet Explorer, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, SharePoint, Adobe Acrobat Professional, and screen capture and editing tools. Familiar with HTML, XML, SQL, relational databases, Java and Oracle. Must be able to attend technical meetings and understand and communicate technical information. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements. Must be a US Citizen

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Designs, writes and edits user guides, Web help systems, PowerPoint training presentations, technical specifications, and other technical documentation for a complex set of Web applications. Performs user testing of the software using business requirements and functional specifications. Develops documentation for end users, system administrators and software developers. As a member of the technical writing team, adheres to established style conventions to ensure a consistent design for documentation across all applications. Sets up and edits screen captures without displaying PII (personally identifiable information). Creates and edits style sheets and layout templates for word processing and help authoring applications. Creates PowerPoint presentations. Must be able to attend meetings and understand and communicate technical information. Works with quality assurance testers to log and track software issues. Interfaces with product and project managers, software developers, business analysts, and quality assurance analysts. Understand and communicate government policies and regulations, operational mission and goals for assigned programs. Assist management with recruiting of new staff. Assist management with training for current staff members. Monitors projects and ensures client requirements are met. Support the preparation of proposals, business plans, standard process documentation and other documents related to the government contract. May serve as a team lead and be assigned to mentor other team members. Attend required training. Perform backup support outside of the primary position function as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to sit at a computer and stand for extended periods of time. Must be able to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; must be able to reach with hands and arms. Must be able to communicate verbally and to hear. Must have close and classroom vision.
