TOOL GRINDER

The purpose of this position is operate precision grinding equipment to sharpen and manufacture cutting tools to high quality finish blueprint specifications.

Perform quality inspection of tooling throughout the manufacturing and sharpening process.

Sharpen most tools of various complexities to match blueprint specs without assistance using fixed gauges, micrometers, calipers, optical comparators, and surface gauges.

Perform set ups, operate all manual grinders and perform all silver soldering tasks with the use of judgment.

Select work holding fixtures to use in the tool grinding process.

Set up, align, and operate surface, cutter, and CNC grinders, as well as any related equipment to perform medium complexity tooling operations.

Create simple CNC programs with the use of basic CNC codes. Make medium complexity tooling from a tool blank as required.

Job Experience:

Candidates who have experience working on ANCA CNC Grinders will be considered first. This position will be on 2nd Shift from 3PM - 1PM with overtime as needed.
Complete tool grinding operations with the use of complicated drawings, specifications, precision measuring instruments, and trigonometry and geometry principles.

Complete all process paperwork and production log book at each machine after every grinding task is complete.
