This position is on a federal Ability One contract that requires most of the work hours are performed by employees with disabilities. Due to program requirements, this particular position needs to be filled by a person meeting the Ability One criteria.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or GED equivalent. One (1) year of related experience required. Ability to read, write and speak English.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Loads and unloads trucks, and other conveyances; Moves supplies and materials to proper location by wheelbarrows or hand trucks; Stacks materials for storage or bin. Collects refuse and salvageable materials. Digs, fills, and tamps earth excavations. Levels ground using pick, shovel, tamper and rake. Shovels concrete and snow. Cleans culverts and ditches. Cuts tree and brush. Operates power lawnmowers. Pick up leaves and trash areas. Spread sand and salt on icy roads and walk-ways. Maintain cleanliness of equipment and ensure they function properly. Keep carts, caddies and storage/maintenance closets orderly. Attend GCE/LCI in service training as required. Report supply needs and equipment that need replacing or repairing.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds. Ability to frequently bend, crouch, walk, climb stairs and ladders, reach above head, sit (to drive) and lift up to 40 pounds regularly. Assist in lifting equipment and moving furniture when necessary. May be required to move or lift alone.
