JOB DESCRIPTIONTRADE COMPLIANCE ANALYST
This position will be a trade compliance generalist supporting the Senior Manager, Trade Compliance in all aspects of MACOM s Trade Compliance program, including primary responsibility for all aspects of the export license process for both Department of Commerce BIS and Department of State DDTC export licenses. MACOM has a very broad and dynamic set of product lines and business models addressing both commercial and military customers. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop a comprehensive portfolio of trade compliance experience within a fast-paced and intellectually stimulating environment.
The Trade Compliance Analyst will provide guidance and support to internal resources to identify controlled data and hardware, licensable transactions, evaluate export license requests, gather necessary data, prepare documentation for license/TAA applications for submission to the appropriate government agency via DTRADE and SNAP-R, as well as support export related reporting, recordkeeping and maintenance of existing export licenses and TAAs. This role will also have responsibility for order hold/release in SAP, denied party screening analysis, review and approval of manual shippers, preparation of reports/recommendations, as well as a variety of day-to-day trade compliance issues as they arise.
At MACOM, trade compliance functionality such as the identification of controlled products, protection of controlled technology, data management, license determination, license exception/exemption usage, order hold and release and denied party screening has been integrated into our business software systems including SAP and Agile. This functionality is critical to our compliance program and needs to be maintained and periodically upgraded as our business grows. The successful candidate must have, or be willing to develop, a working understanding of these systems and the functions they perform in MACOM s business operations. Using both SAP and Agile will be an integral part of this role.
To be successful, candidate must possess the ability to work collaboratively with our operations and product management teams to understand the details of how our products are designed, manufactured and sold. The ideal candidate will possess the following skills: issue spotting, problem solving, and ability to work in cross-functional teams with members of our IT, legal, sales, customer service, planning, manufacturing, logistics and shipping departments.
The successful candidate must have familiarity with both the ITAR and the EAR, including a minimum of 1-2 years experience in preparing and submitting export licenses, an understanding of jurisdictional and classification analysis, and hands-on experience with a comprehensive ERP system, preferably SAP.
Experience in a high volume shipping and manufacturing environment desired
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Travel 10%
