JOB DESCRIPTIONFull/Part Time/PRN: Full-Time

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
High School Graduate or equivalent, BCLS certification, and no experience required. Must be able to read, write and understand English.
Supervises and evaluates the transporter function at UT Southwestern Medical Center University Hospitals, St. Paul and Zale.
Generates or supervises the generation of event reports during the assigned duty hours. Investigates facts as able. Facilitates timely receipt of these reports and follow-up to the Staffing Services Manager.
Provides immediate coaching/counseling of transporter personnel as appropriate and follows up with accurate reports to Clinical Nurse Manager.
Demonstrates effective problem solving abilities and actively participates in resolution of physician, patient and or family complaints. Reports complaints and intervention to the Clinical Nurse Manager and Staffing Services Manager in a timely manner to allow for adequate follow-up. Follows up on staff issues and ensures feedback to staff member. Engages in effective problem solving with other departments as necessary to meet needs of the patient population served.
Provides input/conducts annual performance reviews and orientation evaluation of personnel assigned to the Transporter function.
Assists with scheduling and daily edits in staffing system. Completes payroll editing as applicable.
Assumes delegated responsibility for scheduling education, department requirements, and other tasks assigned by manager.
Assists with staff meeting, special projects and in the development, implementation and evaluation of performance improvement activities. Participates on hospital work groups as requested.
