RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS:
The program's primary mission is to assist welfare recipients with a substance problem to achieve self-sufficiency through treatment and employment.
Human Resources Administration (HRA) contracted with VNS to develop and implement a Clinical Case Management (CCM) Program to work with Public Assistance applicants/recipients who have alcohol and/or substance abuse disorders and other barriers to self-sufficiency.
The goal of the program is to help clients comply with their required substance abuse treatment; to comply with other mandates of the welfare to work initiative; and to obtain employment or disability benefits.
Responsible for providing administrative and clinical supervision to staff, including the appropriate utilization and management of staff to ensure the quality and quantity of Care Management provided is consistent with an interdisciplinary team approach to the delivery of care and VNSNY Comprehensive Care Management Program goals and objectives. Works under general supervision.
Licensure: Valid New York State drivers license required.
Education: Bachelors degree in a related field required, Masters degree in Social Work, Education or related field from an accredited college or university required.
Experience: Minimum two years experience working with substance abuse clients or MICA, including some fieldwork and one year supervisory experience required. Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills required. Knowledge of New York HRA systems preferred. Knowledge of vocational rehabilitation a plus. Proficient with personal computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel preferred.
