PeopleNet, a company of Trimble, is recruiting for a Technical Operations Project Engineer to fill an opportunity in Minnetonka, MN.

The TechOps Project Engineer is responsible for coordinating, training and supporting customers during BETA test validation of new PeopleNet products and features. This role is responsible for ensuring software / hardware commercial release readiness and Beta customer satisfaction. The qualified candidate will have strong analysis and problem solving skills with a customer service focus. This role is responsible for researching and documenting root cause of all reported issues and collaborating with a cross functional team to implement solutions prior to commercial release readiness. The primary purpose of this position is to ensure the quality and performance of PeopleNet s products and services in a real world operating environment.

Responsibilities:

* Understand the deep level details of technical issues

* Troubleshoot uncommon hardware and software issues as needed

* Demonstrate expert level knowledge of multiple areas within PeopleNet product line

* Define LOE for projects and project scope

* Manage customer facing and internal projects

* Leverage the skillsets of individual team members on complex, multifaceted projects

* Meet with Product, PMO, QA, and Development teams to discuss project challenges and prioritize solutions

* Consult with development teams to provide concise, accurate details on how our systems work end-to-end

* Meet with and train all applicable parties to educate on new features prior to release

* Design Beta test environment, ensuring appropriate coverage and variables are represented

* Manage Beta code deployment via OTA

* Create internal Beta release documentation

* Participate as a Beta team representative on a cross-functional release management team

* Prioritize items in queues for team members

* Work with cross functional internal teams to ensure ongoing research is appropriately directed, progressively working toward a solution

* Position may require occasional evening or weekend hours, but primary workload involves standard business hours during the work week (8-5)

Required Skills:

* 3+ years of experience working in software and hardware troubleshooting or development capacity

* Experience collaborating and negotiating with internal and external stakeholders including third party vendors

* Project planning and execution experience

* Experience with debugging source code such as java, C#, or C++

* Experience with scripting and SQL query creation

* Experience working in a Linux environment

* Experience with troubleshooting by leveraging server and device logging

* Demonstrated success with root cause analysis

* Experience developing reports to analyze data trends and proposing meaningful conclusions

* Ability to communicate advanced product knowledge

* Travel less than 10 percent of the time

Preferred Skills:

* Project Management Skills

* Training skills

* Experience trouble shooting mobile or wireless communications

* Experience with the SDLC

* Experience with multiple operating systems, such as Linux, Windows, iOS, and Android
