Under the direction of the supervision of the Supervisor-Field Service, Technical Support, the Technical Support Specialist provides after sale service support to Power Systems customers, which includes troubleshooting, technical information assistance, application data, warranty processing assistance, and distributor/dealer training in a back-up role. The Technical Support Specialist provides informative and technical advice to distributor and customers by telephone, correspondence, and field trips regarding proper generator maintenance, repair, operation and training. This positions aids and supports distributors, dealer, and OEMs with applications, installations and field start-ups on new products. This role involves warranty claim review and processing, as well as providing technical assistance to the Warranty Coordinator regarding validity of warranty requests by distributors and customers so a just processing of the claim can be made.
Bachelor's degree in me c ha n i c a l or e l e c t r i c al engineering required.
At least 2 years' experience i n the ope r a t i o n, maintenance or repair of automatic transfer switches (A T S) , g enerators, or ot h er e l e c t r i c p o w er d i s t r i b ut i on eq u i p m ent.
A t ho r o u gh u nde rs t a n d i ng of gene r a t o rs , en g i n e s , automatic transfer switches a n d r e l a t ed c o n t r o l s i s preferred. Ability to quickly grasp and understand these concepts would be acceptable for the right candidate.
Basic understanding of e l e c t r i cal power generation i s required.
Ability to troubleshoot and solve mechanical and electrical problems.
Excellent communication skills.
Computer proficiency and operating knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
Fluency in Spanish is preferred
