Xilinx's Technical Documentation and Localization team is looking for a Technical Writer with proven excellent technical communication and project management skills.



This is a junior level position.



This candidate will:

* Be responsible for writing, editing, and the production of technical documentation for Xilinx products.

* Have the ability to collaboratively and independently work on multiple projects is a must.

* Have established writing, editorial and organizational skills to ensure that the documentation produced complies with Xilinx corporate standards.

* Demonstrate intellectual curiosity about how things work, and how they can be improved.

* Work under pressure with multiple deadlines and projects.

* Be passionate about information structure, content, and delivery.

* Have the ability to work successfully with internal customers and foster positive working relationships among internal partners.


Organization:

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

* 2 years of technical communication experience in a high-tech field

* BA in English, journalism, technical communication, or a related technical field, or a university-issued certificate in technical writing

* BS in Engineering preferred, but not required

* Experience establishing schedules and managing multiple project deadlines

* Experience working directly with SMEs and internal stakeholders

* Ability to follow and enforce style/writing guidelines

* Relevant technical background/experience

SKILLS:

* Strong Technical English writing and editorial skills

* Strong verbal/written communication with global teams

* Track and clearly communicate project goals, progress, and risks

* Strong organizational skills: project management and status reporting

* Recent Adobe FrameMaker and Acrobat experience preferred

* Structured authoring with DITA or other XML-based systems preferred

* Visio or other graphics programs desired
