Technology Consultant III (MSSQL Database Administrator)

The AOPS MSSQL DBA position provides core database administrator tasks such as creating and maintaining databases, physical and logical tuning of databases as well as application tuning. He will assist in design and implementation of tools for monitoring and maintaining numerous databases. He will design and implements scalable database configurations appropriate to the customer needs and increasing capacity as needed. Responsibilities include (but not limited to): Install, configure and manage MSSQL databases Develop scripts and tools to automate routine and repetitive database administration tasks Provide monitoring, and troubleshooting of the MSSQL databases in a 24 X 7 environment Tune database and system parameters for optimal systems performance Must be able to work flexible hours as required by business priorities and participate in on call rotation Provide backup and restore functions for MSSQL databases Responsible for all system dba activities including capacity planning for growth Must be able to interface with both, current and prospective, customers via conference calls and/or onsite meetings, if required Mentor junior DBAs
