RESPONSIBILITIES:

AS PART OF THE GLOBAL TECHNOLOGY FUNCTION AND THE TECHNOLOGY STANDARDIZATION MANAGEMENT (TSM) TEAM, THE ELECTRONIC COMPONENT ENGINEER SHALL SUPPORT GLOBAL SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC COMMUNITIES IN THE SELECTION OF ELECTRONIC PARTS THAT COMPLY WITH CORPORATE RULES. THE ELECTRONIC COMPONENT ENGINEER SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR A SET OF ELECTRONIC COMMODITIES AND TECHNOLOGIES FOR NORTH AMERICA REGION, AND CONTRIBUTE TO THE EVOLUTION OF CORPORATE RULES.



THIS POSITION IS BASED IN OUR BOSTON ONE CAMPUS (BOC) DESIGN CENTER IN ANDOVER, MA, AND WILL INVOLVE SOME TRAVEL BOTH WITHIN AND OUTSIDE OF NORTH AMERICA (5-10%).

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

SUPPORT OF GLOBAL DESIGN TEAMS IN THE SELECTION OF ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS.

VERIFYING THAT COMPONENTS ARE COMPLIANT TO APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS AND CORPORATE RULES (QUALITY, SUPPLIER STRATEGY, ENVIRONMENTAL, ETC.).

INVESTIGATING AND PROMOTING ALTERNATIVE SOLUTIONS.

COORDINATION WITH INTERNAL LABS FOR COMPONENT ANALYSIS AS NEEDED.

CREATING, MAINTAINING, UPDATING, AND APPROVING DATA IN THE COMPONENT DATABASE FOR ASSIGNED ELECTRONIC COMMODITIES.

LEADING AND/OR PARTICIPATING, IN COLLABORATION WITH OTHER EXPERTS AND INTERNAL CUSTOMERS, IN THE CREATION, DOCUMENTATION, AND APPLICATION OF STANDARDIZATION RULES FOR COMPONENT BUILDING AND MAINTAINING CLOSE RELATIONSHIPS WITH R&D CENTERS, PURCHASING ORGANIZATION, AND MANUFACTURING PLANTS AND INNOVATION TEAMS.

REGULAR EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION AND COORDINATION WITH THE OTHER TSM ZONES IN CHINA, EUROPE, AND NORTH AMERICA.

INITIATING AND SUSTAINING CONTACTS WITH SUPPLIERS AND MANUFACTURERS, AND OBTAINING INFORMATION ON COMPONENTS (ROADMAPS, CATALOG, STRATEGY, ETC.). SUPPORT SUPPLIERS PCN IMPACTS AND SOLUTIONS FOR SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC PROJECTS/PRODUCTS.

FACILITATING COMMUNICATION AND INTERACTIONS BETWEEN SUPPLIERS AND INTERNAL DESIGN TEAMS.

CONTRIBUTING OR LEADING AND ANIMATING TECHNICAL NETWORKS FOR ELECTRONIC TECHNOLOGIES.

WRITING, PUBLISHING, AND MAINTAINING INTRA-COMPANY TECHNICAL GUIDES AND DIRECTIVES PERTAINING TO COMPONENT SELECTION.

PROVIDING TECHNICAL SUPPORT TO NEW.

REQUIREMENTS:



Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE), or related engineering/technical discipline.

Complex ICs (MCU, Memories, Communications ICs).

5 years of experience in product design and/or component engineering.

Demonstrated ability to work effectively in large multicultural teams.

Strong communication skills.

Ability to negotiate solutions to complex business and technical problems.

Self-sufficient and proactive.

Detail oriented.

Curious and capable of independent learning.

Strong quality focus in anticipating, identifying and meeting the needs of our internal and external customers through a process that is continuously improved.

Ability to travel internationally as required.

Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Familiarity with regulations and standards such as RoHS, REACH, UL, NEMA, IEC, ANSI,

Complex ICs (MCU, Memories, Communications ICs).

Contacts and experience with the electronic components marketplace and related manufacturers.

Project Management and Product Evolution processes.

Manufacturing experience.

Experience with component search tools: IHS, Silicon Expert.
