Job Description:

The Washington Trust Company is seeking an experienced Mortgage Underwriter for a temporary assignment in our Warwick, RI location.

Responsibilities:
Underwrite, evaluate, and approve/process mortgage loans, either brokered or funded by the Bank within defined limits of authority as determined by Supervisor. Loan processing involves verifying all loan information including income analysis, collateral, credit, etc. * Follow up on required appraisals and title searches, and issue commitment letters and/or notices of incompleteness in accordance with compliance requirements.
* Partner with Loan Officers, assisting them in qualifying loans.
* Ensure Washington Trust and Washington Trust Mortgage Company LLC loan policies are followed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates should have five to seven recent years of multiple lender loan underwriting and processing experience and should have current knowledge of loan processing and automated underwriting systems (Encompass a plus).
