The Earth Research Institutes at the University of California, Santa Barbara invites applications for a pool of temporary research positions (Specialist Series). Appointments are subject to availability of funding and departmental needs. Screening of applicants is ongoing and will continue as needed. The number of positions varies depending on the needs of the department. The Department is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through research, teaching and service.
Basic qualifications include holding a professional degree (Bachelors or equivalent degree) in their fields. The salary is dependent upon qualifications.
Desired qualifications include an outstanding research record or demonstrated potential in the research areas of: Natural Hazards, Human Impacts, Earth System Science, and Earth Evolution. The degree requirements for each specific Specialist level can be found on the Academic Personnel website. The candidates should possess strong communication and organizational skills.
