SUMMARY: This position requires the person to field all incoming phone calls to Housekeeping and perform administrative duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. * Answer all telephone calls within three rings in a friendly, efficient manner that promotes a positive image of the hotel. * Log guest and employee requests and/or reports of product or service defects. Close calls when completed and follow up as needed with guest, staff and/ or management. * Assist in performing administrative duties as necessary for Housekeeping as directed by management. Produce reports and status updates for proper functioning of the department. * Act as the center of communication for Housekeeping, especially in the event of an emergency. Review and understand all policies and procedures for safety, emergency preparedness, etc. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must have at least one year experience in a customer service role. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Must be able to clearly speak and understand English. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practice problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
