Company Profile: Leading Transportation Company Job Description: Our client, a leading Transportation and Supply Chain Company offering tons of growth potential is looking for someone to be a strong leader to manage a group of people in a 24/7 terminal, make process improvements and be a change agent within a large Terminal. The team consists of operations and service employees, mechanics and clerical staff. Responsibilities include: Managing, servicing and providing maintenance on approx. 105 power units and 175 trailers. Hire and assign employees in accordance with company policy. Provide training to new and existing employees on: expectations of position, how to perform duties of position, company policy, safety, and other areas as necessary. Perform duties of each position if necessary, as outlined in each job description. Conduct performance appraisals and disciplinary action with employees in accordance with company policy. Schedule and supervise activities of all assigned personnel. Assist sales people and maintain customer relations with existing customer base. Establish and maintain relationship with vendors. Check rental units in and out. Plan and enforce budget; approve all terminal expenses. Collect accounts receivable from local customers. Manage parts inventories. Responsible for compliance with company assignments and D.O.T., OSHA, EPA, and other government regulatory agencies, including required reporting and paperwork. Maintain current permits on vehicles. Maintain safe, clean and orderly working environment. Participate in process and quality improvement activities, including presentations as required. Job Requirements: Minimum qualifications for this position: Education: Bachelors Degree ideally or equivalent experience Experience: Five plus years industry experience as a mechanic and or maintenance manager, including management responsibility. Previous experience being responsible for the service and maintenance of power units and trailers. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs): Employee should have broad knowledge in DOT rules and regulations. Strong math skills with the ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages. Employee should have the demonstrated ability to carry out detailed written and oral instructions. Demonstrated leadership and management ability. Employee should posses excellent verbal and written communications skills and articulate and courteous phone voice. Ability to set priorities and accomplish duties of position with little supervision and direction. Physical demands of this job: Employee must have a valid CDL and ability to pass DOT physical. Employee must be able to twist, bend, pull, push and lift up to 75 pounds. Work in excess of 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week to accomplish duties of position when required. Employee will be required to stand, walk, sit, use fingers, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, and crouch. Employee will present a neat, clean appearance of self and use proper business etiquette. Employee will work in a field location.
