JOB DESCRIPTIONJob Description:
You are a highly motivated self-starter interested in overseeing vessel and terminal operations and the supervision of employees; Logistec offers the position of Terminal Superintendent in our New London, Connecticut operation. This position requires strong leadership, interpersonal and organizational skills. YOU WILL: Assist the Operations Manager in completing New London s goals and objectives; Ensure proper housekeeping and stowage of material throughout terminal and warehouses; Assist in oversight of vessel operations and ensure productivity goals are met; Ensure all employees, customer and vendors are complying with health and safety requirements; Ensure equipment is maintained and available for use, completing inspections of equipment and gear when needed; Assist in truck dispatching and administrative duties when needed. YOU HAVE: College degree in related industry; Eight (8) to ten(10) years in a supervisory and management experience or equivalent education; Strong communication skills; Ability to make decisions in regards to operational issues; Flexibility to work nights, weekends and holidays as needed; Leadership and interpersonal skills to coordinate efficient teamwork and promote cooperation; Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products.
