Position Description

Lenovo is the fastest growing technology company on the planet, with growth outpacing our competition quarter after quarter! Lenovo's fundamental belief is that life rewards those who Never Stand Still. Every day, every employee at Lenovo is focused on moving forward, rejecting traditional limits, and always seeking a better way. We are looking for the person who challenges the ordinary and seeks to innovate in learning, while also balancing execution.

Lenovo's Data Center Product Group is a fast-paced customer-centric organization that adapts to an ever-changing market to serve customer needs. We are looking for a Technical Lead who has extensive experience in Storage Technologies and Test Methodologies. The Technical Lead / Test Architect will be a leader in the Storage Test Team in technical direction, ramping, training, guidance and process governance for delivery of storage solutions ranging from in-the-box entry-level to large datacenter solutions in the Enterprise.

The Work: The Technical Lead works with Development architects, designers, and validation teams across WW sites to identify requirements for current and future validation needs and to review the execution of the organization against those needs. This role will work with the leadership team on strategic objectives and drive initiatives to meet organizational goals. They propose innovative methods for validation and are a continuous change agent in the fundamental test procedures and process. They must be self-starters and be able to identify what needs to get done and how to do it.

The Technology: The Technical Lead is the expert in the organization on current Storage technologies and is the first to look at new technologies from inside and outside the company. They apply their judgment on the best ways to validate those current and future technologies, and they educate and influence the organization as a whole.

The Team: The Senior Technical Lead mentors and guides more junior staff in the performance of their duties in the area of relevant technologies, test architecture, test development, coverage, HW/SW tools, debug, etc. This position will often lead WW virtual teams to solve large and/or pressing problems that affect the entire organization.

Across the Organization: The Technical Lead is a key influencer, helping to guide and shape the strategy not just for Storage but for the entire Data Center Product Group Test Organization. They have excellent communication skills, and can transition smoothly from a detailed technical discussion in the lab to a high-level review of strategy with the Management or Executive Team.

In short, a Technical Lead in the Lenovo Data Center Group has the ability to materially change how we do validation in the Enterprise Sector and must have the drive to make it happen.
