The Third Party Liability (TPL) Reviewer under the general supervision of the Unit Supervisor is responsible for the reviewing, processing and resolution of the MVA and Workers Compensation Receivable for the Mass General Hospital, Brigham and Womens Hospital and Faulkner Hospital.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Analysis/review of open balances for MVA/Workers Compensation Accounts until resolution
2. Detection/correction of account and billing information
3. Collection of medical record information when needed
4. Maintenance of outsourced accounts to vendors
5. Identify procedural, system, or other issues as they occur and communicate details to department supervisor or manager
6. Maintain records utilizing shared file areas or other mechanisms as appropriate.
7. Special projects, as assigned.
A minimum of two years Patient Accounting experience or similar background with review work.
A High school diploma or equivalent required. Associated Degree preferred
Attention to detail and strong critical thinking skills
Strong proficiency in MS Office applications: Word, Excel, Outlook required, strong written and verbal skills, ability to handle complicated account problems in a timely manner, ability to handle multiple tasks having complex procedural steps
