Basic Function:Implement Machining of manufacturing and product engineering designs. Scope/Supervision:To work in a team relationship under direct supervision and to tool DieMaker. Responsibilities: Plan and perform machining operations of a diverse and difficult nature to repair and produce components for tools, dies, fixtures, jigs, gauges, etc., of complex and intricate design having close and exacting dimensional requirements, interrelated dimensions, formed sections and compound configurations requiring a broad knowledge of machining methods and techniques and a high degree of skill. Determine and organize operational procedures and sequences; select tooling, work holding methods, spindle speeds, tooling feed rates and machine attachments. Grind tooling best suited for material characteristics and the nature of the operation to be performed. Mount and secure tooling in tool holders or chucks, position and secure workpiece on bed, face-plate or between centers of machine, using care to align, block, support and clamp properly to avoid distortion, tool deflection or other conditions affecting dimensions. Improvise tooling and machine setups for special adaptations and unusual operations. May lay out machining locations on workpiece or work from reference point to calibrate machines to dimensional relocation for operations.Instruct and assist apprentice on setup and operating procedures.May machine repair parts, limited production parts, and assist with machine repairs when so directed. Work from drawings, sketches, specifications, handbook formulas and instructions.Proceed on work assignments with minimum supervision and direction. Operate and maintain Manual & CNC..Operate multiple pieces of equipment.Verify specifications on fabricated componentsMust attain personal tools.Keep work area neat, clean and organized using the 5S+Safety approach. Submit waste reductions/cost avoidances.Perform these and other duties as requested by supervision. Requirements:High School diploma or equivalent.Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team player.Excellent communication and interpersonal, skills.Ability to adapt to changing roles and changing priorities.
