Trading Systems Manager

Manage and support production trading desks running proprietary trading software. Identify and resolve issues before production trading is affected; work closely with traders and trading system operations members to identify software bugs; and inform Development and Quality Assurance teams of any software bugs for patching. Analyze day to day activities and suggest tools and software enhancements that will provide benefit to the traders they support. Define and document feature requests and software bugs; educate/train traders on new software features; communicate project status; define priority on in-flight projects; translate priorities into action plans; proactively address performance improvements/optimizations; maintain system diagrams with hardware and software dependencies; notify traders when new releases are scheduled; maintain daily issue log and drive resolutions; and maintain proficiency of area's trading tools. Serve as Trade Support Engineer to identify and resolve issues before production trading is affected. Utilize computer science and engineering knowledge to work with various technologies and trading applications, resolve software bugs, and improve systems operations throughout trading desks. Apply understanding of trading strategy along with concepts from, front, middle, and back offices within the Derivatives Markets. Analyze system issues and provide software solutions. Browse or create scripts that minimize human error and provide enhanced automation. Develop script solutions necessary to implement monitoring strategies and analyze FIX messages in the context of software systems and applications.

Applicant must possess a Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree, in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field along with 3 years of experience as a Trade Systems Analyst, Support Engineer or in a related occupation. Additionally, the applicant must have professional experience in: 1.) 1 year of technology application support experience in a trading environment; 2.) Python, Perl, or Shell scripting languages; 3.) using an intermediate level of Unix commands; 4.) basic SQL queries; 5.) communicating with various functions including trading, developers, QA’s and exchanges; 6.) project management including full life-cycle development, from analysis to implementation; and 7.) data analysis, extraction, and summary/presentation of results.
