GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Training Manager plans, coordinates, and delivers training within the EVS department. Training includes but is not limited to: HR Orientation; Safety Training; Hospital Orientation/Training; Interpersonal Skills; and Job duties training. The incumbent will be relied upon to develop training to meet the medical center objectives all while helping employees retain knowledge and new skills to meet performance standards. The incumbent will also be responsible for tracking and documenting training participation and on some occasions get involved in the training planning with the EVS management team. Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.





PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

TRAINING EXCELLENCE

*

Prepares detailed outline of specific training programs.
*

Prepares monthly reports of training activity and statistics.
*

Coordinates and compiles results of user satisfaction survey program.
*

Collects supervision rounds forms and supervision team meeting minutes forms; compiles, reviews and presents to management.
*

Coordinates and compiles results of special Quality Assurance (QA) and infection control monitoring instrument programs.
*

Presents materials at Infection Control/QA meetings.
*

Provides adequate notice to supervisors/managers of impending training exercises and coordinator relief/replacement staff as necessary.
*

Prepares master training schedule several months in advance, and reviews periodically with management team.
*

Plans, coordinates, and executes Weekly Minders and Monthly Safety Minders programs.

PEOPLE MANAGEMENT



*

Plans, coordinates, and executes all new-hire initial training to include (1) hospital orientation, (2) department orientation and (3) \\"hands-on\\" job training. Small clinic/ group training in such learning fundamentals as MSDS, RACE, Infection Control, Body Mechanics, Safety, Domestic Violence, Age Specific Protocols, Hospital and Department P&P, and any other mandated training programs.

Plans, coordinates, and executes cross training and remedial training programs in both one-on-one and small clinic formats.
*

Translates materials into Spanish.
*

Prepares or purchases new training films/ materials as needed.
*

Ensures computer-based QA program is operating smoothly with inspections performed thoroughly and promptly and reports in timely and suitable format.

ADMINISTRATION

*

Documents (in collaboration with other members of the management team) the supervision/ management development program.
*

Assists in the planning, coordination, execution and documentation of department hospitality training.
*

Customizes training documentation forms.
*

Prepares memory aids for staff; i.e. plasticized cards for MSDS, Mission, Race, etc.
*

Ensures adequate quantities of forms.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

*

Bachelor level degree in Adult Education or an alternate Bachelor level degree with substantial course work related to adult education, learning strategy, design and development of learning material and multi-media communication required.
*

Three or more years of training experience required.
*

Proficient in MS Office required.
*

Demonstrated knowledge and application of current and future trends in the Learning & Development industry required.
*

Ability to improvise quickly to identify solutions required.
*

Provides constructive feedback in a respectful way -required.

Rapidly learns new information and articulates it in an appropriate way for various audiences required.
