The Transplant Analyst plans, coordinates and implements strategies and tactics for the inpatient and out-patient data needs as they relate to the transplant process and data capture and provides professional support related to the design and the implementation of performance improvement plans. 1. Facilitates development of database system. 2. Plans, organizes and provides support for research trials, clinical care for transplant patients, and quality program and initiatives. 3. Reviews clinical data for completeness and accuracy. 4. Ensures there is effective analysis of performance data with comparison over time and comparisons to internal and external benchmarks to identify improvement opportunities. 5. Facilitates analysis of data through use of specific tools and methods. Assists teams with understanding and interpreting their data. Performs 'just in time training as necessary' for teams and division personnel as needed. 6. Ensures trend analysis is performed and appropriate response to unfavorable trends are developed and deployed. 7. In conjunction with clinical leaders, performs focused studies on diagnosis, procedures and various performance measures based on pre-determined criteria. 8. Creates and maintains scorecards, dashboards and other performance reports. 9. Utilizes refined facilitation skills to ensure maximum participation of individuals and teams 10. Uses CQI tools and principles in all team related work. 11. Ensure plans and designs are consistent with internal and external expectations for accreditation, regulatory compliance and public reporting. 12. Provides technical and educational support for transplant staff and physicians with regard to database and ambulatory EMR. 13. Enters data from various sources for regulatory reporting and for analysis and research; requires knowledge and application of pertinent computer programs. 14. Participates with management to develop and apply standards of data storage, manipulation and reporting. a. Maintains knowledge of patient data flow criteria for transplant services. b. Creates, monitors and updates appropriate policies and procedures. c. Extracts data and prepares reports for all internal audiences and outside regulatory and research agencies. 15. Assists with creation of formal and informal presentations concerning the transplant population providing raw, trend and benchmark data. 16. Assists the management team in marketing and business development initiatives utilizing transplant services data for planning activities and through active participation in outreach activities. 17. Acts as Epic ambulatory 'super user' and educator/trainer for division staff and physicians. 18. Adheres to the Medical Center's Organizational Competencies and standards of behavior. Working Conditions: Lifts a minimum of 5 lbs., pushes and pulls a minimum of 5 lbs., and stands a minimum of 1 hour a day. Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: 1. Bachelor of Science in Nursing. 2. Strong ability to collect, organize, analyze and present data. 3. Strong project management skills with the ability to think conceptually and analytically. 4. Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, as well as ability to learn and utilize on-line collection data sites, and the ability to utilize spreadsheets and graphic programs to produce bar graphs and charts. 5. Willingness and ability to become Epic ambulatory super user and trainer including mastering tools and techniques for teaching, and being able to transfer information to other users successfully. 6. Willingness and ability to learn report writing skills for Epic ambulatory EMR. 7. Self-directed, able to work independently, and demonstrates high level of motivation. Superior organizational skills and ability to prioritize appropriately. 8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred: 1. MHA, MSN, MBA. 2. 5 years experience in data collection, analysis and management in a health care setting. 3. Understanding of Transplant Regulatory Standards. 4.
