Under the supervision of the Chair, Division of Nephrology, serve as Transplant Nephrologist and medical director for the Kidney Transplant Program at Tufts Medical Center, the principal teaching hospital of Tufts University School of Medicine. Perform kidney transplant biopsies, review biopsies, and evaluate live donor kidney transplant candidates and kidney donors. Evaluate and manage incompatible donor/recipient pairs and develop protocols for immunosuppression, treatment of rejection and polyoma nephropathy. Work with essential organ extra renal organ transplant recipients (heart/kidney, liver/kidney, pancreas/kidney). Participate in UNOS and Region 1 transplant organizations. Oversee transplant coordinators, as well as serve as one of the principal clinical educators in the Division, supervising and training fellows, residents and medical students.
Must have M.D. degree, or foreign equivalent, completion of 3 years of residency training in Internal Medicine resulting in Board Certification, 2 years of fellowship training in Nephrology resulting in Board Certification, and 1 year of fellowship training in Transplant Nephrology through an American Society of Transplantation accredited program. Must also have Massachusetts Medical License.
