JOB DESCRIPTIONAPPLY Position Description
This exempt position is responsible for coordination of transportation to and from Domtar Personal Care (Attends Healthcare, Associated Hygienic Products, EAM Corporation) locations, determining the most economical and efficient mode of transportation, scheduling timely pickup and delivery based on order release schedules and Domtar Personal Care shipping priorities. This employee performs key transportation functions requiring continuous interaction with Domtar Personal Care Customers, Motor Carriers, Agents, Brokers, Freight Forwarders and allied operations within the Domtar Personal Care Organization (Sales, Planning, Procurement, Manufacturing, Scheduling, Customer Service, and other Domtar Personal Care locations).
Principle Accountabilities/Key Duties:
Routing all orders to the proper carrier for service to the customer and internal cost controls. Helps to control the transportation budget through innovative thinking and service to customer needs. Parcel, LTL, TL, IM, Ocean, Air shipments are all routed. Approximately $30MM in spend is managed for freight with Domtar Personal Care.
Creation of shipping schedules for sites in Domtar Personal Care North America, managing available capacity and accommodating customer/carrier/shipping needs for both prepaid and customer routed freight using our Transportation Management System as well as customer/Retail websites.
Work with shipping personnel, suppliers, and purchasing to ensure routing guide compliance and process requests for authorized expedited shipments.
Creation of carrier invoices from the Transportation Management System directly into Oracle for AP processing of carrier payments. Investigation and processing of any invoice discrepancies, balance dues, etc.
Maintains logs, metrics, and provides reports with respect to transportation activity, carrier downturns, daily filing/record keeping and compliance. Audit validation of freight invoices.
Document preparation for all export shipments, compliance for Customs and Border Protection.
Works with outbound service providers to obtain tracking information, maintains trailer pool status and coordinates administrative elements of freight shipments with customers.
Other duties as dictated by business needs across the Supply Chain as well as Transportation.
BA in Logistics Management, a Business related degree field, or minimum of 5 yrs experience in Logistics/Planning role.
Advanced PC Skills such as: MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access.
Working knowledge of Oracle, SAP or similar systems is preferred.
Must possess analytical and communication skills.
Transportation or Logistics background is preferred.
Ability to interface and work across all levels within the organization.
Ability to multi-task, have time management skills, work in a fast paced environment while still producing quality output, and be able to work independently.
