JOB DESCRIPTIONAPPLY VHB's growing Orlando, Florida team is looking for a Transportation Engineer / Planner to join our Transportation group. Candidates should have a strong background in transportation planning, and interests in traffic/transportation engineering, to support a wide range of planning studies that include coordination of public involvement and agency outreach efforts. VHB's passionate professionals include engineers, scientists, planners, and designers who partner with public and private clients in the transportation, real estate, institutional, and energy industries, as well as federal, state, and local governments. Together, we work to improve mobility, enhance communities and economic vitality, and balance development and infrastructure needs with environmental stewardship. Responsibilities: Conduct of planning assessments using analytical tools such as GIS to evaluate data, identify trends, and develop documentation to summarize results Assistance with development of support materials for public involvement programs Support with authorship of project-related documentation for a range of transportation planning studies, traffic operations projects, grant initiatives, and multi-modal / transit-oriented projects. Performance of field data collection and other on-site project support activities Skills & Abilities Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills The ability to manage multiple assignments and work in a team environment A strong work ethic with the desire to learn and achieve Excellent attention to detail Knowledge of FDOT process, procedures and requirements is preferred Working knowledge data analysis tools such as ArcGIS and Excel Proficiency with communication tools such, Word, PowerPoint, and graphics software Qualifications: Background in transportation planning and/or traffic engineering 1 to 3 years of experience Bachelor's degree in planning, civil engineering, or related field
