JOB DESCRIPTIONAPPLY VHB's growing Raleigh, NC team is looking for a Transportation Engineer or Planner to join our team.

Responsibilities: Work within a team of professionals to support our planning projects, including environmental documents, technical studies and roadway design Participate in preparation of NEPA and SEPA documents Transportation planning analyses Work with a team of professionals in a variety of transportation-related areas including data collection and intersection analysis, biological surveys, crash analysis, community studies, etc. Assist Municipalities with following procedures as established for federally funded projects through the NCDOT system Assist with conducting research, preparing reports, and presenting findings and results to clients
Skills and Abilities: Have knowledge of and experience in aspects of traffic engineering and transportation planning or design; NEPA experience preferred Experience with Microsoft Office, especially, Excel, Powerpoint and Word Experience with Microstation, ArcGIS, Google Sketchup or Microsoft Visio is a plus Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills Team-oriented with strong capability to work independently Motivated to learn and think critically
Qualifications: 5 or more years of experience Degree in Civil Engineering, Planning, Environmental Sciences or related field Experience with NCDOT Project Development Section preferred On track to obtain North Carolina Professional Engineer license preferred
