The Sr. T&E Analyst is responsible for managing most aspects of the travel and
entertainment expense processing for the US and Canada operations and will own the more
complex areas of the process. This role will be responsible for ensuring compliance with
Shire s global travel policy and will work closely with the T&E expense auditors.
The Sr. T&E Analyst must be a team player that will work together with the T&E teams across
all geographies and also support global Finance Operations processing, reconciliation,
reporting, and auditing of all expense reports. This role will also support Global Compliance
and other stakeholders with ad-hoc reporting and data requirements and miscellaneous
30% Provide ongoing challenge and review to all T&E processes in order to
deliver a culture of continuous improvement
* Challenge and improve the IT environment to enhance efficiency
* Leverage knowledge across global T&E teams to deliver
effective, efficient and consistent services to business customers
* Ensure the correct KPIs are measured to drive cost effectiveness
* Drive improvements in KPIs
70% Handle the more complex areas of the T&E process and ensure control
and compliance standards are maintained
* Process the weekly Concur accounting extract and work through
issues to ensure proper handling
* Handle Delegation of Authority requests and maintenance
* Own the corporate credit card program, ensuring that cards are
issued / cancelled / suspended as appropriate and credit limits in
* Provide training to users on the T&E process and proactively
enhance knowledge of the process across the business
* Participate in processes and controls to ensure segregation of
duties and adequate senior review is properly executed,
including the completion of appropriate reconciliations and
chasing and education of business users in relation to non-
compliance with the processes.
* Assist with processing to ensure that delivery deadlines and
customer service standards are consistently met.
* Instill a strong control ethic within the team and ensure all team
members have thorough understanding of all control elements.
Ensure all processes and procedures are robust and maintain
Sarbanes Oxley compliance.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management or equivalent
Minimum 5 years of experience with previous supervisory experience a plus
Minimum 2 years of Travel and Expense experience
Concur experience required
SAP and/or JD Edwards experience strongly preferred
Strong Microsoft Excel experience required
Experience managing a corporate credit card program preferred
Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred but not required
Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and regulations in payments to healthcare
professionals would be advantageous
