JOB DESCRIPTIONAPPLY Role: SmartSource is seeking 3 Lead Support Technicians to support a Windows 8 migration for a period of 3 months based in Houston TX. This is 100% travel. If you are not willing to live out of a suitcase for a period of 3 months then this position is not for you.
Previous migration experience: Preferably XP experience by any migration experience will be helpful Any Windows 7-Windows 8 migration background is a MASSIVE PLUS Multitasking and strong communication skills: The Lead Tech will constantly be working with the local BTSS staff, migration staff and floor walkers. Being able to manage all of these items and clearly communicate instructions and updates will be very important
Documentation: Everyone wants documentation, so the lead tech will be doing a lot of it. Not really a skill set more of a heads up that they will be required to do a lot of it.
Willing to work extra hours:
During the first couple of weeks of migrations we will be dialing in the process. It is by no means complete so we will be putting in some long hours to get things working smoothly. I would guess our work weeks will be 50-60 hours. I know this is a lot of hours but there have been so many manual processes added that our original time estimates are no longer valid.
This is an executive level migration that need the best people possible. These technicians will need to be able to interface professionally with executive level users. They will be responsible for answering any questions the users may have, and handle troubleshooting of any issues. The hours are 8am-5pm with 1 hour for lunch. The dress code is business casual which is defined as dress slacks, dress shirt, (Tie Optional) Dress shoes. NO JEANS, SHORTS, SNEAKERS OR T-SHIRTS
Qualifications: Must pass a drug and criminal background check before starting A+, Net+, or MCTS or equivalent classroom training and 3 years related industry experience or minimum of 3-5 years minimum related industry experience MUST BE WILLING TO DO NATIONAL TRAVEL 100% Strong Migration skills using SCCM Strong Customer Service and Troubleshooting skills for Migrating Data, Microsoft Office Suite and Printer installation. May need to install any missed software, Install printers, Map drives and Copy data Must follow documented processes for performing or supporting installations and upgrades and complete all defined deliverables for each user Comfortable interacting with Executives and handling any questions or troubleshooting needs which may arise Must have experience in Windows migrations to include pushing images through SCCM Windows XP-Windows 8 or Windows 7-Windows 8 Migration background is HIGHLY Preferred-( MINIMUMS-Windows 7 migration background is a must) Ability to comprehend industry standard network connectivity, navigation, and software installation Must have a background deploying and installing new servers Lead background Is Highly preferred or 3-5 years minimum experience working on deployment type roles on an enterprise level Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs without any restrictions Excellent customer service skills to interact with site Management as well as Leadership and patience Must be very flexible hours and have no restrictions when it comes to time onsite Must have excellent communication and customer service skills.
