JOB DESCRIPTIONJob Description:
Purpose Of Position To safely transport equipment and materials to and from job sites. Perform minor maintenance on trucks and equipment. Perform regular labor duties and use a variety of hand tools necessary for the maintenance and repair of water and sewer mains. Essential Functions Drive and operate dump truck, haul truck, and trailer.Operate loader, backhoe, and forklift in loading and unloading materials and equipment.Keep truck clean and in safe operating condition.Assist crews in repairs, maintenance, and installation of water and sewer systems.Assist crews with manual labor as needed.Cut concrete, ductile iron pipe. PVC pipe, clay pipe and cast iron pipe.Pour and finish concrete,Lay, haul and finish asphalt.Operate jackhammer, power tools, hand tools, etc.Respond to emergency calls after normal working hours if needed.Must he able to sit, stand, and -walk for long periods of time. Must be able to safely lift, carry, push, and pull up to 100-lbs. Must he able to bend, stoop, and kneel for short periods of time.Must be able to work in inclement weather.Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications High School diploma or GED required: one ( 1) year of job related experience preferred but not required. Must be familiar with hand tools. Must be able to operate a loader. backhoe, and forklift to load materials on trucks. Must be able to operate a combination truck and trailer hauling backhoe, bulldozer, and materials. Must be able to operate dump trucks and light duty trucks including 1-ton, 3/4-ton. and 1/2-ton varieties, and various trailers. Must have a valid Class -B\\" Commercial Driver's License, prefer Class \\"A\\" Commercial Driver's license, with clear driving record. Typical schedule is Monday through Friday. Sam to 5pm, but must be available for rotating on-call duty, which may work after hours, weekends, and holidays. Must have a telephone and reliable transportation. Must live close enough to Tyler to be able to respond to calls within 20-minutes.
