Job Description

JOB FUNCTION:
Incumbents have the experience, knowledge, skill and ability to perform Trust & Wealth Management Operations Specialist 1, 2 and 3 jobs. Duties may be the same as the Trust & Wealth Management Operations Specialist 3, requiring a higher and broader level of technical skill and experience. Incumbents handle more complex transactions related to an area of technical expertise; act as a source of reference and a control point of quality; and interact with customers at a higher level (responding to inquiries, researching problems and handling routine transactions). May serve as an administrator for a Relationship Manager or Financial Consultant Team.

Duties may include, but are not limited to:
Recording the purchase and sale of securities for the investment department, computing the taxes and commission, and handling the transfer of securities. Processing mutual fund transactions, security sales, capital changes and computing cash balances dividends, gain/loss, pension disbursements, tax withholding, etc. and updating accounts accordingly. Researching and resolving issues independently. Handling closing account activities. Handling specific external communication with vendors and/or clients.

Establishing new accounts, providing administrative support and handling more complex transactions and research projects. Functioning as the control point to execute activities within department guidelines, procedures, controls, and workflows to ensure compliance. Serving as a trainer and guide to provide direction for new hires and less experienced staff.




SCOPE OF SUPERVISION, DECISION MAKING, PROBLEM SOLVING, ETC:
Supervision: Minimal direct supervision received. Functions independently the majority of the time. Serves as a trainer and guide for new hires and less experienced staff. Incumbents at this level may be in training for the next level of advancement. No supervisory responsibilities.
Decision Making: Some independence. Makes routine decisions independently, evaluates unique situations often which require research of legal documents, independent judgment, and initiates execution unless exceptions are identified. Presents exception recommendations to manager for approval prior to taking action. Exceptions are more frequent and may have larger impact on customers.
Problem Solving: Strong ability
Error/Hazard: High
Client Contact: Could be frequent contact, complex internal contact. Occasional external contact. Periodic end client contact.
Compliance: Functional control point. Assists with designing processes and internal controls.
Technical Skills: Strong to high technical knowledge and/or strong industry knowledge
