The primary role of the MS Exchange / Lync Engineer is to provide support and engineering for our MS Lync and Exchange environments. Candidates should have a solid understanding of Lync 2007 and 2013 administrations and Exchange 2010/2013 administration including mailbox set up, maintenance, troubleshooting.
The MS Exchange / Lync Engineer is to participate in and lead discrete portions of an enterprise scale infrastructure project from inception and ROI analyses through design, execution and transition to data center operations. The MS Exchange / Lync Engineer helps the team lead to drive the overall vision according to the team's goals. The MS Exchange / Lync Engineer will typically focus on a single project but may also be required to provide expertise to multiple projects. The MS Exchange / Lync Engineer may contribute to overall governance and management of the projects, but defer to the team leads. The MS Exchange / Lync Engineer also works with major stakeholders to validate design and plans for execution and transition. The MS Exchange / Lync Engineer understands the context in which the project is being launched and develops solutions that enable the organization to achieve its goals and overall business strategies.
* Planning, designing, and documenting delivery of infrastructure technologies supporting a complex and heterogeneous corporate data and voice infrastructure; using standard methodologies (ITIL, risk management, project management, and TCO calculation) to ensure reliability, security, recoverability and cost effectiveness of all designed and delivered solutions.
* Plan and manage technical implementation of systems and network integrations with clients, business partners, suppliers and subsidiaries
* Collaborate and communicate with resources in Application Development, CTO, Operations and Business organizations to deliver infrastructure that meets the needs of stakeholders
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline is desired.
Minimum of 5 7 strong years of experience in network engineering, troubleshooting and design, with thorough knowledge in multi/protocol routing and switching.
Experience in Microsoft Lync 2010/Skype for Business Administration and Design preferred
Experience upgrading Lync versions
Managing and establishing Federated connections
Experience in Microsoft Exchange 2010/2013 Administration - 1000+ User Environment preferred
Troubleshooting / Resolution
Setting Up Mailboxes / Mailbox Restorations
Disaster Recovery / Redundant Environment Setup / Configuration / Administration
Scripting Languages PowerShell
Experience with Barracuda Mail Gateways strongly desired
Experience with Microsoft Active Directory strongly desired
PowerShell scripting experience strongly desired
Possess advanced knowledge of the tools and processes required by the role Function well in large-scale, highly complex, cross-functional / platform environment preferred
* Ability to work in an on-call rotation
