JOB DESCRIPTIONJob Details:

Supports the nursing division by performing various administrative and clerical functions. Facilitates communication with medical staff, nursing staff patient and visitors. Works collaboratively with team members in the accurate management of patient records, including the transcription of provider orders. Assists as directed in the patient care setting.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
*Commits to the Mission, Vision and Beliefs of Crete Area Medical Center and consistently demonstrates our Core Values.
*Participates in meetings, committees and lean projects as assigned.
*Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.
*Performs service excellence initiatives such as: AIDET, Key Words, Managing up, 10/5 Rule and Service Recovery when applicable.
*Accurately transcribes provider orders.
*Accurately documents pertinent information in the electronic health record.
*Assists with the registration of patients, accurately inputting patient demographics and insurance information.
* Assists with scheduling of procedures, diagnostic tests and physician appointments.
*Works collaboratively with utilization review to maintain appropriate level of care for patients (inpatient, STOP, surgical, SNF or ICF).
*Full time and part time employees must attend a minimum of 50% of monthly staff meetings with validation for receipt of information presented at 100% of meetings. PRN and limited part-time employees must provide validation for receipt of information presented at 100% of meetings. Completion of all mandatory sessions/trainings.
*Maintains accurate census board and log books for acute care and nursery.
* Provides assistance with patient care as directed.
High school diploma or equivalency required. Certified Nurse Aide and/or Medication Aide (advanced course), Certified Medical Assistant, or any medical licensed profession preferred. BLS required within 3 months of hire. Previous hospital experience in a clerical or technical position preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
