This role is primarily responsible for designing, recommending, implementing and maintaining incentive compensation programs that support the assigned Franchise(s) sales force in the achievement of objectives by delivering fair, competitive, and performance driven compensation plans. Responsibilities include compensation program analysis, design, creation, maintenance and administration. In addition, the position is responsible for delivery of IC reporting and functions as an internal technical consultant to HR, sales management, and employees to identify and resolve various compensation-related issues/questions.
Primary client contact and consultant for Incentive Compensation (IC) services from implementation to plan termination, including design, gathering requirements, documenting specifications, report generation, developing/maintaining timelines, QC, and coordination of administrative activities (i.e. billing) appropriately.
Key Job Responsibilities
Act as business owner and project manager for all aspects of incentive compensation and field reporting related to incentive compensation.
Ensure all IC programs are conducted in a compliant fashion and are aligned with the needs of the sales organization and overall corporate direction/strategy/goals.
Partner with sales leadership, the internal sales operation team, and vendors to facilitate the design and administration of incentive compensation plans for the Franchise(s) sales team(s).
Work in conjunction with sales leadership and other internal groups (finance and HR) to assist in incentive plan and tracking analyses; perform quality control to maintain high levels of quality, accuracy, and process consistency.
Develop and maintain necessary IC documentation including scope documents.
Work independently to process information and data to create reports on activities, trends, and projections regarding incentive plan performance.
Train sales representatives, managers, and clients on Franchise(s) Incentive plans.
Meet with Sales Management and Clients to establish, monitor and review performance.
Other projects as deemed necessary by Management.
70%: Actively partnering with internal stakeholders to design, implement, and administer Incentive Compensation plans. Ensure proper documentation and control of processes. Ensure CIA adherence for activities and preparation for compliance reporting and mock audits.
20%: Coordination within US Sales Operations and US Commercial Operations to effectively implement and administer IC plans.
10%: Serve on multi-disciplinary teams to integrate US best practices
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor s degree and 3-6 years of related professional experience
Demonstrated ability to manage projects
Excellent analytic skills, and demonstrated experience in analyzing and synthesizing data to inform decision making, using Excel and other tools
Ability to handle multiple responsibilities, prioritize appropriately and find the way to deliver results efficiently
Works well with others in a team oriented environment
Detail oriented, strong problem solving skills and high sense of urgency
Excellent Oral & Written Communication Skills
Experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
5+ years of pharmaceutical sales, marketing or operations experience
Direct experience in sales operations, planning or reporting
Previous incentive compensation experience, preferably in biotechnology

20% Travel as required supporting Shire s current & emerging footprint. Duties will sometimes call for early or late meetings and/or attendance to meetings on holidays and weekends.
